National Cancer Institute recognized cancer center program is hiring an enthusiastic ANM who encourages compassionate, evidence-based nursing on the women's oncology floor. The RN Assistant Manager will be a leader and resource to the oncology nursing team. An ideal Nurse Leader utilizes strong nurse leadership skills and experience in patient-focused oncology practices to develop a strong unit.
As a Leapfrog "Grade A" facility, the Cancer Center focuses on providing the best treatment options available. The Assistant RN Manager of Women's Oncology Services will collaborate with leadership and oncology staff throughout the medical center to maintain highly recognized patient care of the accredited full-service Cancer Center.
Responsibilities of the Assistant RN Manager Women's Oncology, Cancer Services:
Oversee 26-bed inpatient oncology service line with patient cases including breast and abdominal cancers and GYN conditions
Supervise 30+ oncology nursing staff, including RNs, Charge Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Educators
Assist in training, onboarding, and mentoring of new critical care RNs
Partner with Nurse Educators to create and implement engaging skill development content that enhances understanding of infusions, biopsies, and surgeries
Evaluate and monitor improvements in current patient care processes such as minimally invasive surgeries, palliative surgeries, and tumor removal
Report to the Nurse Manager with evaluations and enhancements of staff relations, quality assurance, audits, rounding, and initiatives
Monitor goals for the unit, such as staffing stabilization, excellent quality scores, and excellent associate feedback scores
Assist in grant and award recognition for the team used to increase quality care, group mentorship, and improved staff engagement
Ensure compliance throughout the oncology floor following organizations such as The Joint Commission
Communicate with patients and families kindly and respectfully
Requirements for the Assistant RN Manager Women's Oncology, Cancer Services:
Associates Degree required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio
2+ years of inpatient oncology, women's oncology, or related areas
CPR/BLS and ACLS required
OCN Oncology Certified Nurse
1+ years experience in nurse leadership
