The ARRA Group, a boutique healthcare recruitment firm, has partnered with our largest independent academic medical center client to hire an Assistant Vice President of Nursing, Psychiatry, and Behavioral Mental Health. Recognized in the top 10 US hospitals for clinical outcomes, the hospital's 2-floor, 70-bed inpatient psychiatric unit is seeking an innovative and positive AVP of Nursing to partner with executive leadership to create transformational plans focused on improving overall service line efficiency, including compliance with regulations and patient approach. The Nursing AVP will onboard a strong BMH nurse leadership team, working together to improve overall staff retention morale and evidence-based patient care.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Vice President AVP, Nursing Psychiatry, Behavioral, Mental Health:
- Oversee 70-bed inpatient psychiatric service line, managing and supporting 100+ nursing staff responsible for high-acuity patient cases throughout floors
- Onboard and partner with Nurse Managers and ANMs to improve overall staff retention morale, and efficiency
- Work with the CNO and Department Chair to evaluate current inpatient processes, and implement changes to improve compliance with regulatory requirements, restraint processes, etc.
- Create innovative plans focused on decreasing the number of adverse outcomes; analyze trends of incident reports, documentation of care, care planning, and rounds
- Review current budgets, creating cost-effective services and operation lines without sacrificing high-quality patient care
Requirements for the Assistant Vice President AVP, Nursing Psychiatry, Behavioral, Mental Health:
- Master's Degree MSN from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Licensure as an RN Registered Nurse in the State of New York
- 8+ years of inpatient psychiatric and mental health nursing experience
- 5+ years of recent nursing leadership/supervisory experience within inpatient psychiatric settings
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification PMH-BC is a plus
