Responsibilities of the ICU Critical Care RN Nurse Manager MICU/SICU:
- Assist staff in daily interdisciplinary rounds with unit medical, surgical, and neuro intensivists
- Report to the Administrative Nurse Director and work closely with Critical Care Nurse Supervisors
- Carry out strategic plans for the Critical care Department to improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and overall quality of care
- Evaluate MICU and SICU nursing teams and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Oversee 40+ full-time employees in MICU and SICU on a 24/7 basis
- Monitor patients, and ensure quality care is provided by creating standards for evidence-based care
- Organize continued training programs and resources to encourage and facilitate staff development
- Assess current finances and cost-effectively manage budgets without declining the quality of care to ICU patients
- Discuss treatment options with department physicians and nurses to achieve a non-critical state of health in patients
- Compassionately communicate with patients and families on treatments and health updates
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing BSN required; MSN preferred
- Current RN License in the State of Tennessee
- ACLS and PALS required
- Board Certification in the nursing-related field desired
- BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association AHA required
- 5+ years of critical care experience in ICU, MICU, SICU, CCU
- 3+ years of nurse management experience preferred
- Ability to manage staff, budgets, and productivity
- Proven leadership experience in driving metrics, results, and quality improvement
