Organized and Motivated Nursing Educator Needed for Growing Dietetics Center

While a nursing background is preferred, we are open to those outstanding dieticians that specialize in diabetic patient treatment.
Responsibilities of the Nurse RN Diabetes Educator CDE
Develop and implement educational diabetic management programs for healthcare teams and patients
Lead diabetic clinical planning
Provide expert leadership for diabetes treatment including: Type 1, Type 2 and gestational, self-management, insulin self-monitoring and injection, pattern management, pump inquiry, advanced/refresher pump class, and continuous glucose monitoring
Manage nutritional and exercise counseling
Collaborate with and train diabetes / endocrinology teams
Assess current continuum of care and make recommendations for improvement
Work well across various departments and collaborate with leadership
Follow hospital strategic initiatives
Create and give engaging and clear presentations to nursing teams
Stay abreast of the latest research, trends and clinical news
Bring innovative nursing strategies to diabetic treatment teams
Requirements for the Nurse RN Diabetes Educator CDE
BSN Bachelor’s Degree Nursing or Registered Dietician Required or in process of obtaining
RN or RD licensure in the state of Illinois
Previous clinical or hospital experience is preferred
Diabetes treatment experience is ideal
2+ years nursing or dietetic experience preferred
Maintain compliance with OSHA Regulations
Knowledge of diabetes medications and treatment plans
