Responsibilities of the Nurse Director Geriatric Psychiatry:
- Oversee the Older Adult psychiatric program and nursing staff
- Ensure all patient safety and preventative measures are followed
- Evaluate processes and make recommendations
- Bring strategic solutions to improve efficiencies and care
- Collaborate efficiently with a robust multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physicians, social workers, and other clinical care providers
- Promote compassionate and evidence-based care for every patient
- Train and mentor psychiatric nursing staff
- Maintain safety and compliance throughout behavioral health department
Requirements of the Nurse Director Geriatric Psychiatry:
- BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- MSN, or master’s degree in related field preferred
- Strong RN inpatient psychiatry experience required
- Experience with geriatric/older adult patients required
- RN license in the state of Georgia
