Transformative New York Hospital is looking for a Compassionate Nurse Leader of Quality
This US News and World Report High Performing Medical Center needs an RN Quality Manager who can elevate quality standards throughout the hospital. Working with 3 Staff QI Nurses and reporting to Quality Department RN Director, the Assistant Nurse Director will promote effective, evidence-based nursing and evaluate standards to improve hospital metrics and outcomes. The RN Manager, Quality Improvement will achieve goals within the department and hospital by assisting in evaluation and needed changes for Quality Improvement, Outcomes and Patient Safety.

The Assistant RN Director for Quality Assurance is responsible for promoting safety culture, high reliability concepts, and performance excellence. Overseeing all of Patient Safety and Quality for the 500+ bed Hospital, the Quality Assistant Director will actively participate with the internal and external quality organizations and teams.
Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Manager, Quality Assurance QI:
Report and partner with the RN Director of Quality to maintain high quality and safety
Participate in evaluation of departmental goals in collaboration with the Director of Quality and Staff Nurses within the hospital’s Quality Department
Assist in reporting of hospital’s quality and safety data in a timely manner to state and national agencies as well as external agencies
Perform Safety Event Response process steps including incident review, safety event investigations, reporting, and follow-up monitoring
Act as a point of contact between nurse supervisors and Quality leadership in regards to quality assurance and patient safety
Create Nursing Quality Indicators that can be analyzed and reported and needed
Collaborate with Quality Staff Nurses to create development of nursing staff with quality and safety policy training programs
Promote the hospital’s safety culture, high reliability concepts, and performance excellence within the community
Assist in creation and evaluation of current expenses, finances, and accounting to ensure a cost-effective and quality service line
Requirements of theRN Nurse Manager, Quality Assurance QI
Master’s Degree in Science of Nursing MSN required
Current NY Nursing license
5+ years acute care nursing experience, preferably in Patient Safety, Quality or related field
2+ years Nurse Leadership experience within Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, or Risk Prevention
CNL, CNML, CEN, CENP or related certification preferred
CPPS and CPHQ certification is a plus
Proven experience promoting safety culture, high reliability concepts, and performance excellence
