Responsibilities of the Operating Room RN Nurse Manager:
- Oversee all nursing aspects of the Operating Room Unit and service line
- 24/7 management of 80+ OR FTEs
- Hire, schedule, train, mentor, and evaluate surgical unit nursing staff
- Develop a partnership with the Nurse Educators to create team-building activities and promote nurse retention and growth
- Report to the Senior Director of Perioperative Services and support quality improvement initiatives and growth through the operating department
- Achieve unit based goals outcomes and drive strategy through collaboration with departmental leadership
- Promote evidence-based nursing practice for perioperative patients, including pre and post-surgery
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including, Physicians, Surgeons, Case Managers, and Advanced Practice Nurses to achieve optimal levels of health in OR patients
- Communicate kindly and respectfully with patients and families
- Ensure continued safety and compliance based on guidelines set by organizations such as The Joint Commission and Leapfrog
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN; MSN preferred
- Magnet nursing experience preferred
- Current RN license in the state of Tennessee
- 3+ years of nursing experience in OR/surgical services
- CNOR, CFPN, CNAMB, or related certifications are a plus
- 3+ years of nursing management experience
- CSSM, CNL, NE-BC, or related nurse leader certification
- Results-oriented, servant leader with proven ability to increase metrics
