Healthgrades’ Top 100 Hospital is Hiring an Enthusiastic RN Bed Coordinator US News and World Report High Performing Medical Center are looking for a Nurse Coordinator to maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will respond to occupancy bed demands and act as the liaison for all departments, including the ED, PACU/OR, transfers, and direct admissions.

The RN Nurse Coordinator will help monitor all patients’ transfers and discharges and ensure high-quality and cost-efficient patient movement processes during the night shift. This position must ensure compliance with HIPAA and PHI regulations.
Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Bed Coordinator-NIGHTS:
Track, evaluate, and implement solutions to improve the quality of placement and movement of patients
Assign patients to available beds to avoid delays in patient arrival to units
Partner with the admissions office daily regarding patient movement
Communicate with nursing units regarding bed availability and confirm beds are assigned appropriately
Perform daily walking rounds to assess and reassess flow throughout the hospital
Collaborate with patient care teams on patient transfers, admissions, and discharges to ensure appropriate placement of patients in a timely manner
Implement situational procedures for when patient placement and bed demands are high
Report to the Director of Throughput for department improvement initiatives to continuously improve the quality of patient care
Function efficiently as point person for emergency dept, PACU, and admissions
Ensure compliance to HIPPA Regulation/Patient confidentiality by safeguarding the Protected Health Information (PHI)
Requirements for the RN Nurse Bed Coordinator-NIGHTS:
Bachelor’s Degree BSN required
Licensed Registered Nurse RN in the state of New York
3+ years of critical care nursing experience
BLS/CPR and ACLS certification
CCRN, BEN, or related certifications preferred
1+ years of Nurse Coordinator/Leader experience
Clinical Nurse Leader CNL certification is a plus
Throughout knowledge of HIPPA and Protect Health Information PHI regulations
