State-of-the-Art Labor Department Searching for Enthusiastic, Education Focused RN The Registered Nurse Educator will help educate and support healthcare professionals in the delivery of quality patient care. They will improve patient safety through teaching and practicing the latest techniques related to different labor/delivery stages including perinatal and neonatal. Not only will the candidate develop skills within the field but will be able to collaborate with other nurses and physicians interested in growing the educational content throughout neonatal, mother-baby and labor and delivery.

Using their education and labor/delivery knowledge, the candidate will be improving patient care and outcomes and can provide a sense of confidence in the RN staff.
Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Educator Labor Delivery, Postpartum:
Educate patients, families, and other healthcare professionals about their labor and pre- / post-natal concerns
Work with team members of all health departments to ensure individualized deliver processes
Provide emotional support and education on the role and duties of the guardians of newborns
Teach a variety of in-service and in-school classes in multiple settings, including in the hospital, home, center, classroom, and special events
Inspect labor and delivery unit protocols, teaching team members how to effectively utilize these techniques in clinical situations
Translate complex information into simple terms for all ages including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and elderly populations.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of documentation procedures and policies of the staff and of family training programs to ensure that appropriate evidence-based approaches are being utilized
Follow the latest labor and birthing research and techniques
Education nursing staff on non-biased treatment for birthing mothers during labor/delivery
Requirements of the RN Nurse Educator Labor Delivery, Postpartum:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Master's Degree specializing in Nurse Education or ability to achieve in 1 year of hire
PALS certification required
NRP certified or ability to receive in 6 months of hire
Current New York RN license
1+ years of recent experience in Nurse Education
2+ years of recent experience in Labor, Delivery or EFM
