This Magnet-designated Medical Center is hiring a Nurse Manager with a standard of excellence to lead a 24/7, 32-bed, Level 3 NICU. Reporting to the Maternity Services Director, the NICU RN Manager oversees 60+ neonatal nurses while partnering with medical and provider team to create personalized treatment plans. The goal of the NICU is to ensure the highest level of patient care at all times.
As a Disease Specific Certification for Prematurity Recipient from the Joint Commission, the NICU works with state-of-the-art life monitoring technologies and life support. Patients and families need a compassionate and patient-first resource to help navigate the continuum of care. The RN NICU Manager must have neonatal critical care and leadership experience.

The NICU RN Nurse Manager will evaluate current quality care processes and ensure compliance with CMS and Joint Commission regulatory commissions. This NICU Neonatal Clinical Manager will work to create quality improvement initiatives that follow the hospital’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities of the NICU RN Nurse Manager:
Oversee 32-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
24/7 management of 60+ NICU nurses
Partner with the support team to onboard, train, and mentor nurses
Develop engaging training programs to promote staff growth actively
Coordinates NICU staff to provide compassionate care for Level III NICU infants
Assist in initial care to the infant during delivery and diagnose, stabilize and treat infants with any life-threatening medical issues as needed
Collaborate with neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatric physical/occupational therapists, genetics experts, and lactation consultants to create personalized treatment plans
Communicate with multi-specialty professionals for treatment of patients with infections, respiratory failure, newborn brain injuries, congenital disabilities, and pulmonary hypertension
Oversee daily and emergency treatments for therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide, high-frequency ventilation, and lactation support with donor breastmilk
Follow up with families during discharge meetings to coordinate all medical and surgical care
Assist the Director of Maternity Services with hospital planning, staff, quality initiatives, simulation, leading team, process improvement
Evaluate current treatments and procedures and implement quality improvements as needed
Assist in planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of the budgetary process
Maintain a cost-effective service line while following the given operational budget
Follow recommendations for PPE, sterile equipment, and overall safety procedures according to the CDC
Ensure safety and compliance with regulatory agencies, JCAHO, and the Nurse Practice Act
Requirements for the NICU RN Nurse Manager:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required; MSN Master’s Degree strongly preferred
Current RN Nursing license in the state of New Jersey
5+ years of NICU, Critical Care/ICU, or related experience
BLS/CPR, PALS, and NRP required
RNC-NIC, CCRN, or related National NICU certification preferred
3+ years of leadership/supervisory experience
CNL, CNML, or related certification is a plus
