Recognized as one of South Carolina’s “Best Hospitals,” this medical center is hiring a lead expert on managed care contracts. The ideal analyst has advanced analytical and data management skills. The Senior Analyst will act as a resource to leadership throughout the hospital regarding management of payer reimbursement rates and rules.
The Managed Care and Payer Relations Department ensures the hospital’s advancement in modern reimbursement methodologies, billing/coding terminology, and query language. The Senior Hospital Analyst, Payer Contractswill coordinate and assist in the timely loading, validation, and maintenance of payer reimbursement rates into EPIC.
Working in Managed Care & Payer Relations, the Hospital Senior Contracts Analyst will ensure the Payment Integrity Compass management system keeps pace with hospital expectations. The Sr. Analystprioritizes the efficiency of reimbursement rate implementations and workflows within the hospital, ancillary, and physician networks.
Responsibilities of theSenior Hospital Analyst, Payer Contracts:
Reports to the Analyst Manager and works collaborating with Managed Care and Payer Relations department
Maintain data files of all-payer reimbursement rates and rules on hospital shared drives
Act as a lead resource to Analysts on the contract management system, Payment Integrity Compass
Develop continued training on modern reimbursement methodologies, billing/coding terminology, and query language
Perform as a liaison between Managed Care Department and all hospital, ancillary, and physician network services
Coordinate with Information Services to load and maintain payer reimbursement rates and rules into EPIC
Partner with end-users, business areas, IT, vendors, and leadership to develop and validate system processes based on payer reimbursement rate information
Review and create weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial performance reports on EPIC to ensure accuracy of the load and set up of all-payer reimbursement data
Develop policies and procedures to support system payer reimbursement rate implementations and workflows based on evaluated reports
Implement strategies to resolve problems or limitations to EPIC payer reimbursement rate set up
Requirements for theSenior Hospital Analyst, Payer Contracts:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Science, Business or related field
3-7+ years experience in managed care finance/hospital and physician practice accounts receivable management
Must have 1+ year experience within healthcare industry
EPIC Professional and Hospital Billing and Payment Integrity experience
EPIC Resolute PB and HB certification
Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies such as DRG, per diem, fee schedule, and APC
Understanding of billing/coding terminology like ICD-10, CPT, and Revenue codes
Experience working with PC-ad hoc report writers and query language
