The Transplant Nurse Coordinator for the Living Kidney Donor Program is experienced in professional nursing and wants to help this program advance the clinical mission and goals of the department to better help patients.
The ideal candidate will perform the responsibilities through collaborative relationships within the hospital. The program's goal is to restore patients to their top health and return them to a productive life. Working with this one of a kind hospital will be providing the highest quality care to patients who need a helping hand.
Responsibilities of the Transplant Nurse Coordinator-Living Kidney Donor Program:
Evaluate both pre and post-transplant patients as the primary coordinator for working with referring specialists and coordinators
Manage patients that already have an identified living donor
Follow proper processes and procedures in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings
Perform quality control functions and help develop and implement quality improvement
Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments
Communicate with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) to maintain an accurate and current patient waiting list
Compassionately educate the patient and family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health through scheduled sessions
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures
Kindly greet patients and prepare them for physician evaluations while screening for appropriate information
Carefully assist patients in the collection of samples and completion of tests
Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information
Assume other duties and responsibilities were needed to the position and area
Requirements of the Transplant Nurse Coordinator-Living Kidney Donor Program:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; B.S.N. Preferred
CPR Certification
Preferred Clinical Transplant Coordinator certification; or eligibility to achieve
2+ years of professional nursing experience
1+ years of previous transplant, outpatient, or dialysis experience desirable
