Responsibilities of the Echocardiographer RCCS/RCS
- Perform two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms
- Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of cardiac imaging in order to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.
- Follows hospital and departmental protocols to ensure patient safety
- Participates in meetings with physicians, nurses, radiology technicians, and other health professionals.
- Experience with the general knowledge of the methodologies and use of echocardiography and ultrasound imaging equipment
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers in the clinical setting
- May report to a supervising physician, nurse practitioner, or medical director
Requirements for the Echocardiographer RCCS/RCS
- This position requires an Associate's or Bachelor's Level Degree in Cardiovascular Technology
- Current RCCS or RCS certified candidates preferred
- Experienced Echocardiographer candidates, a minimum of 3 years, may apply without certification
- New grads or experienced hires without certification will be required to seek Echocardio Registry (RCCS or RCS) within 12 months of hire
- Must have the skills to work independently as well as have the ability to work well within a team
