Responsibilities
- Coordinate pre-operative preparations, including verifying patient identification, confirming surgical site, and ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for anesthesia induction.
- Manage the surgical environment, including maintaining sterile technique, monitoring patient vital signs, and addressing any intraoperative concerns.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth transitions between surgical stages and adherence to the surgical plan.
- Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure.
- Document all aspects of the surgical process accurately and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in debriefing sessions to review surgical outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of New York.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience circulating in operating room
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and instrumentation.
