The Assistant RN Manager in the SICU and PCU Stepdown Units will help patients and families understand their evidence-based care. Responsibilities of the Assistant RN Manager- SICU and PCU Stepdown:
- Help manage the Surgical Intensive Care Unit on the evening shift
- Encourage professional development among RN SICU staff
- Collaborate across departments to ensure high quality and cost-effective care to all patients
- Assist perioperative staff in developing individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed
- Work in collaboration with the Manager/Director/CNO to ensure goal attainment
- Enthusiastically participate in training and orientation of new nurses
- Act as a mentor to staff RNs through compassion and communication
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Current New York RN Nursing License required
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing is a plus
- 2+ years of critical care neuro-ICU or Surgical-ICU experience required
- Stroke certified or CCRN is a plus
- 1+ years of supervisory/management experience
