This advanced ICU and hospital system is looking for an Assistant Registered Nurse Manager who hits the ground running to step in and support their staff in all aspects. The ideal candidate has the professional nursing experience that provides the skills to help patients in the SICU and PCU Stepdown. The Assistant RN Manager in the SICU and PCU Stepdown Units will help patients and families understand their evidence-based care. This Assistant Manager is prepared to manage the unit on the evening shift and desires to work with a top-of-the-line team. The goal of this position is to blend caring, compassion, knowledge, and integrity. This position is for a patient, passionate candidate who is ready to grow in their leadership career. Responsibilities of the Assistant RN Manager- SICU and PCU Stepdown:
Help manage the Surgical Intensive Care Unit on the evening shift
Encourage professional development among RN SICU staff
Collaborate across departments to ensure high quality and cost-effective care to all patients
Assist perioperative staff in developing individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed
Work in collaboration with the Manager/Director/CNO to ensure goal attainment
Enthusiastically participate in training and orientation of new nurses
Act as a mentor to staff RNs through compassion and communication
Requirements for the Assistant RN Manager- SICU and PCU Stepdown:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Current New York RN Nursing License required
A Master’s Degree in Nursing is a plus
2+ years of critical care neuro-ICU or Surgical-ICU experience required
Stroke certified or CCRN is a plus
1+ years of supervisory/management experience
