The CVICU Cardiac RN Nurse Manager must hold the nursing team accountable, establish clear metrics, and maintain a collaborative, patient-centered team approach.
Responsibilities for the CVICU Cardiac RN Nurse Manager:
- Report to the Administrative Director of Nursing and support quality improvement initiatives and growth through the critical care unit.
- Develop and promote unit council, shared governance
- Achieve unit based goals and outcomes and drive strategy set by the executive leadership team
- Promote evidence-based nursing practice for patients recovering in the cardiovascular critical care unit
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including, Intensivists, Cardiologists, Case Managers, and Advanced Practice Nurses to achieve optimal levels of health in cardiac patients
- 24/7 management and maintenance of all nursing aspects of CVICU
- Hire, schedule, train, mentor, and evaluate Critical Care Cardiac ICU nursing staff
- Assist Registered Nurses in the treatment of vascular conditions such as aortic aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, and Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Communicate kindly and respectfully with patients and families
- Ensure safety and compliance throughout Cardiac service lines
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN; MSN preferred
- Magnet nursing experience preferred
- Current RN license in the state of Tennessee
- CVRN, PCNA, CCRN, TNCC, or related certifications are a plus
- 3+ years of nursing experience in cardiology, cardiovascular, critical care ICU
- 3+ years of nursing management experience
- Results-oriented, servant leader with proven ability to increase metrics
