The VP will provide leadership to the supply chain line and will create a logical, innovative and effective integrated end-to-end supply chain. An ideal candidate will use experience in organizing and optimizing a supply chain system that keeps costs of operations within the established budgets and guidelines.
Winner of the "Consumer Choice Award" from the National Research Corporation, the Supply Chain VP will ensure the supply chain keeps pace with patient expectations. The Hospital VP of Supply Chain Services prioritizes the procurement and distribution of supplies and materials to the hospital, physician network locations, community medical centers, and administrative support locations.
Responsibilities of the Hospital Vice President Supply Chain Services:
Oversee the supply chain service line, organization, strategy and results
Manage all warehouse facilities, procurement, materials management and system-wide purchasing activities
Lead development of the supply chain service line while ensuring optimal stocking and flow of inventory throughout the system
Ensure timely and efficient flow of inventory through the distribution network to maintain stock of needed medical equipment and supplies at various hospital locations
Develop creative solutions to ensure a focus on proactive capacity, forecasting and planning
Act as a liaison between supply chain management teams and administrative teams such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Information Technology
Track records of supply chain staff performance metrics that are correlated with success
Motivate teams to encourage and reinforce innovation in the design and implementation of change initiatives to gain buy-in from key stakeholders
Report directly to the Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and participate in the development of long-term strategies and business plans
Partner with hospital department leaders to anticipate potential obstacles in the supply chain
Generate ideas for improving overall distribution operations and logistics processes
Develop a budget that keeps costs of operations within the established departmental guidelines
Ensure the service line optimizes product flow and fulfillment systems while maintaining costs within the set cost-effective operational budget
Analyze and predict future trends related to supply chain operations to ensure the hospital maximizes opportunities and sustains the highest level of patient care
Requirements for the Hospital Vice President Supply Chain Services:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare and Supply Chain Management required;
Master’s Degree Highly Preferred
10+ years of Healthcare Supply Chain Services Experience Leadership
CSCP, CPSM, CPL or related certifications preferred
Certified Healthcare Supply Chain Analyst certification CHSCA a plus
