Responsibilities for the Lead Cytotechnologist:
- Perform Cytology Aspiration procedures (FNA)
- Hire and train cytotechnologist staff
- Ensure staff is accurately labeling and maintaining records
- Manage processes effectively in regard to employee and patient safety
- Keep a clean and safe work area at all times
- Accurately detect precancerous, malignant, and infectious condition
- Collaborate well with pathology team
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all patient information
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science
- ASCP Registry and/or Certified Cytology School Degree
- Must be licensed in New York
- 3+ years minimum experience screening gynecological, non-gynecological specimens and fine needle aspirations
- Bethesda system for Cytology reporting preferred
- ThinPrep Certification preferred
