The winner of the Excellence in Life Support Award by ELSO is hiring a Nurse Manager with a standard of excellence to lead a 24/7 Level 4 NICU. Reporting to the NICU RN Director, the Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse Manager will collaborate with leadership and fellow nurses to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Known for the best pediatric-focused fellowships, the RN Manager must have neonatal critical care and leadership experience. The NICU works with state-of-the-art life monitoring technologies and life support. Patients and families need a compassionate and patient-first resource to help navigate the continuum of care.
Working with 100+ Daisy Award-Winning Nurses, the hospital system continues to grow due to community needs. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN Nurse Manager will evaluate current quality care processes and ensure compliance with CMS and Joint Commission regulatory commissions. This NICU Neonatal Clinical Manager will partner with the NICU Director to create quality improvement initiatives that follow the hospital’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU RN Nurse Manager:
Oversee 40+ bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Responsible for 24/7 supervision of 100+ NICU nurses
Partner with ANMs and Clinical Support Supervisor to onboard and train incoming nurses
Develop engaging training programs to promote staff growth with the Nurse and Simulation Educators actively
Create a team-focused work environment, acting as a mentor and support system to NICU nurses
Brief and delegate daily unit tasks and responsibilities to 5+ Assistant Nurse Managers
Coordinates NICU staff to provide compassionate care for Level 4 NICU infants
Ensure PPE, sterile equipment, and overall safety procedures are followed according to CDC recommendations
Assist Nurse Director with hospital planning, staff, quality initiatives, simulation, leading team, process improvement
Evaluate current treatments and procedures and implement quality improvements as needed
Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, physicians, NNPs, nurses, and members of leadership to create personalized treatment plans
Communicate with multi-specialty professionals for treatment of patients with infections, respiratory failure, newborn brain injuries, birth defects, and pulmonary hypertension
Oversee daily and emergency treatments like ECMO, CRRT, EVDs, ICP monitoring, insulin drips, and vasopressors
Assist in planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of the budgetary process
Maintain a cost-effective service line while following the given operational budget
Ensure safety and compliance with regulatory agencies, JCAHO, and the Nurse Practice Act.
Requirements for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU RN Nurse Manager:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN
Master’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field
Valid Georgia or Multi-State RN License
4+ years of nursing leadership experience
BLS/CPR, ACLS Certification
3+ years of Neonatal NICU nursing experience, specifically Level 4
