Responsibilities for the Nurse Director Surgical Service Line:
- Educate and evaluate surgical services nursing team
- Remain knowledgeable on current techniques, best nursing practices
- Oversee Main OR, Ambulatory Surgery, and Pre- and Post-Anesthesia
- Maintain proper RN staffing
- Resolve problems and bring solutions to challenges
- Communicate kindly and respectfully with patients, families and other hospital staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital and other regulations
- Manage budgeting for surgical services nursing dept
- Ensure safety and compliance throughout departments
- Provide training and assistance to nursing staff
- Collaborate well with healthcare teams throughout the OR, PACU and surgical units
Requirements for the Nurse Director Surgical Service Line:
- BSN required
- MSN or other Master’s Degree STRONGLY preferred
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification, preferred
- 3+ years nurse leadership experience
- 5+ years OR nursing experience
- Strong surgical services experience
- Ability to manage multiple locations and services
