Collaboration with Nurse Leaders such as ANMs and Nurse Educators will elevate the staff’s skill level within the clinical practice and retain a strong culture.

The RN Nurse Manager of Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Clinics will encourage care that provides patients convenient, quality, and cost-effective treatment, while at the same time having all of the medical resources of a major tertiary care hospital instantly available.
Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Manager Ambulatory Care, Outpatient Clinic:
Assist in the management of Ambulatory Network, consisting of 5+ clinics, service line
Oversee 60+ outpatient nursing teams specializing in ambulatory care
Report to the RN Director of Ambulatory Care and work closely with Assistant Nurse Managers, Educators, and the nursing team
Partner with ANMs to onboard, train, and mentor new and current RN staff
Organize continued training programs and resources with Nurse Educators to encourage and facilitate staff development
Evaluate nursing teams and implement performance improvement initiatives
Carry out strategic plans for the Ambulatory Care Network to improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and overall quality of care
Collaborate with trained and skilled nurses and technicians within the outpatient clinics to discuss treatment options to achieve a non-critical state of health in patients
Partner with RNs and patient care teams as needed to create personalized care plans, including a range of diagnostic testing and interventional treatment
Compassionately communicate with patients and families on treatments and health updates
Assess current finances and cost-effectively manage budgets without declining the quality of care to Ambulatory patients within the clinics
Ensure compliance with requirements of NYSDOH, JCAHO, and other regulators
Requirements of the RN Nurse Manager Ambulatory Care, Outpatient Clinic:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing BSN required; MSN strongly preferred
Current New York State RN License
5+ years of nursing experience in Ambulatory, Perioperative, or Surgery care
BLS/CPR, ACLS certification
AMB-BC, CNOR, or related certifications preferred
2+ years experience in nursing leadership/supervisory experience
CNL, CNML, or associated certifications preferred
Understanding and experience with nursing education
