Responsibilities for the System Nurse Director-Infection Prevention CIC:
- Manage the Infection Control team and initiatives across the whole health system
- Perform regular infection prevention risk assessments and evaluate current prevention plans
- Coordinate policies and initiatives for educating staff on improving hospital hygiene compliance
- Analyze data to make informed recommendations to lower infection rates
- Act as main point of contact for maintaining compliance with all regulatory, federal, state and third-party accreditation requirements
- Collaborate efficiently with the Infection Prevention Committee Chair and the robust multidisciplinary team
- Guide hospital staff to practice evidence-based infection prevention to provide patient safety and preventive measures
- Evaluate and improve methodology, productivity and workflow to achieve the highest value of care
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing, required
- Valid Virginia or multi state privilege RN license
- 5+ years experience with epidemiology, infection prevention, data collection, related regulatory and recommending bodies
- Infection Control certification (CIC) by Board of Infection Prevention, required
- 1+ years experience in related leadership role preferred
