This transformative New York hospital needs a Nurse Quality Coordinator who can elevate quality standards throughout the hospital. Working with the Quality Department RN Director, the Coordinator will promote effective, evidence-based nursing and evaluate measures to improve hospital metrics and outcomes. Overseeing analytics and reporting of Patient Safety and Quality for the 500+ bed Hospital, the Nurse Coordinator will actively participate with the internal and external quality organizations and teams.

The Nurse Coordinator for Quality Improvement is responsible for promoting a safety culture, high-reliability concepts, and performance excellence. The ideal candidate will achieve goals within the department and hospital by assisting in evaluating the needed changes for quality improvement, outcomes, and patient safety.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Coordinator, Quality Improvement:
Report and partner with the Director of Hospital Wide Quality to maintain high quality and safety
Assist in reporting of hospital's quality and safety data promptly to state and national agencies as well as external agencies
Perform Safety Event Response process steps, including incident review, safety event investigations, reporting, and follow-up monitoring
Assist in creating Nursing Quality Indicators that can be analyzed and reported and needed
Complete analytics and reporting of core measures for data extractions, sepsis review, and quality initiatives
Evaluate the success of developed quality and safety policy training programs
Promote the hospital's safety culture, high-reliability concepts, and performance excellence within the community
Assist in the creation and evaluation of current expenses, finances, and accounting to ensure a cost-effective and quality service line
Requirements of the Nurse Coordinator, Quality Improvement:
Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing BSN required; MSN preferred
Current RN license in the state of New York
2+ years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in patient safety, quality, or related field
1+ years of leadership experience in patient safety, quality improvement, or risk prevention preferred
CNL, CNML, CEN, CENP, or related certification preferred
CPPS and CPHQ certification is a plus
Proven experience promoting a safety culture, high-reliability concepts, and performance excellence
