Responsibilities of the Surgery, Operating Room RN Registered Nurse:
- Provide efficient support to the OR team as a circulating/scrub role during surgery
- Assess patients and communicate all findings with the OR surgeons and staff
- Organize and plan necessary sterile equipment
- Utilize surgical technology such as O-Arm, Intuitive Xi, Stryker spine navigation, ENT Technology, a Zeego Hybrid Room
- Comply with all hospital precautionary guidelines before, during, and after surgery
- Achieve patient-focused care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation
- Deliver compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients
- Update EMR system with patient statuses, notes, and treatment plans
- Provide bedside treatment to surgical patients based on designated care plans assigned by patient-physician teams
- Report to the RN Nurse Manager and Nurse leaders for regularly assigned duties
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Science of Nursing BSN
- Valid Connecticut Registered Nurse RN License
- 2+ inpatient operating room nursing experience
- BLS/CPR and ACLS certification
- CNOR Certification is a plus!
- Specific experience scrubbing and circulating
