Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant and/or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
As a
Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant and/or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with the thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative period. Your responsibilities will include evaluating patients, assisting in surgical procedures, managing post-operative care, and participating in patient education. This role requires exceptional clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with thoracic surgeons to evaluate and manage patients pre-operatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively.
- Assist thoracic surgeons during surgical procedures, including but not limited to open thoracotomies, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgeries (VATS), and robotic surgeries.
- Perform surgical procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician, such as chest tube insertion, central line placement, and thoracentesis.
- Monitor patients in the postoperative period, assessing vital signs, pain management, wound healing, and overall recovery progress.
- Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures, post-operative care instructions, medications, and potential complications.
Requirement
- Current Physician Assistant License in California or Master's degree in Nursing specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) or Valid and active California State Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification.
- Clinical experience as Cardiovascular Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, additional experience in thoracic robotics a plus
