The Nurse Manager brings new strategies and improvements to assist the patients in the department. The ideal candidate will maintain quality standards, exemplify unit excellence, and train staff to be autonomous critical thinkers. This US News and World Report High Performing Medical Center needs an RN Manager who can bring strong leadership to a 20+ Bed Telemetry Department within the Medical-Surgical/Critical Care Division. Overseeing nurses and technicians skilled in diagnostic testing and interventional treatment options, the RN Nurse Manager of the Telemetry Unit will promote compassionate, evidence-based nursing and increase the overall patient experience. The Manager will achieve goals within the unit by collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team and encouraging pro-nursing work culture. Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Manager Telemetry Unit:
Manage 20+ bed Telemetry Unit
Oversee inpatient nursing team specializing in cardiac care
Partner with ANMs to onboard, train, and mentor new and current RN staff
Evaluate Telemetry nursing teams and implement performance improvement initiatives
Organize continued training programs and resources with Nurse Educators to encourage and facilitate staff development
Report to the RN Director of Critical Care and work closely with Telemetry Assistant Nurse Managers, Educators, and the nursing team
Carry out strategic plans for the Critical Care Department to improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and overall quality of care
Collaborate with trained and skilled nurses and technicians within the department division to discuss treatment options to achieve a non-critical state of health in patients
Create personalized care plans, including a range of diagnostic testing and interventional treatment options such as minimally or non-invasive procedures, interventional cardiac catheterization, arrhythmia service, and digital electrophysiology
Compassionately communicate with patients and families on treatments and health updates
Assess current finances and cost-effectively manage budgets without declining the quality of care to Telemetry patients
Ensure compliance with requirements of NYSDOH, JCAHO, and other regulators
Requirements for the RN Nurse Manager Telemetry Unit:
Master’s Degree in Nursing Required
Registered Nurse RN license in the state of New York
5+ years of acute care, telemetry nursing experience
CPR/BLS, ACLS Certification
CCT, CRAT, or related certifications required
3-5+ years of proven leadership experience
CNL, CML, or related leadership certification
Knowledge of CQI and Root Cause Analysis
