In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care in pre-operative and post-operative settings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with thoracic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative period, including pre-operative assessments, surgical procedures, and post-operative management.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations to develop individualized care plans, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretation.
- Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, treatment options, and post-operative care to ensure a smooth transition and optimal recovery.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, identifying potential complications or deviations from the expected recovery trajectory, and intervene accordingly.
- Master's degree in Nursing specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid and active California State Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification.
- Clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in thoracic surgery or a related surgical specialty.
- Strong knowledge of thoracic surgery principles, procedures, and best practices.
