Responsibilities of the Cardiac Surgery/Operating Room Staff Nurse:
- Monitor cardiac patients’ blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rhythms, and respiration
- Utilize electrocardiogram and perform EKG and ECGs
- Closely observe patient vitals, looking for changes or abnormalities
- Interpret data and create care plans
- Follow detailed instructions from doctors and other nurses
- Communicate respectfully with patients and families
- Ensure safety and compliance
- Assist with cardiac surgery and with operations
Requirements for the Cardiac Surgery/Operating Room Staff Nurse:
- BSN preferred
- Current Virginia RN License
- 1+ years RN experience
- Cardiac Surgery RN experience highly preferred
