Experience in emergency or trauma experience is ideal and at least one year of nursing experience is required.
Responsibilities for the Emergency Room ER Staff Nurse:
- Treat emergency room patients with evidence-based care techniques
- Carefully assess and monitor patients
- Take vitals, administer medication, take blood, dress wounds
- Treat injuries, allergic reactions and trauma
- Collaborate with ER staff nurses
- Ability to quickly assess a situation and react
- Communicate kindly and compassionately with patients and families
Requirements of the Emergency Room ER Staff Nurse:
- BSN required
- 1+ year RN experience required
- Current New York RN license
- BLS required
- ACLS and PALS required within 12 months of start date
