This hospital ranks among the top 1% of hospitals in the US with positive patient outcomes and is seeking an experienced Critical Care RN Manager. An ideal CCU Nurse Manager should have strong attention to detail and bring a positive attitude to the ICU/MICU Service team. The RN Manager will handle high-stress situations swiftly and help the unit team calmly manage problems with critical care patients.
With services Gold Star designated by The Joint Commission, the ICU and MICU have a fast-paced environment. The RN Nurse Manager of Critical and Intensive Care will see a majority of trauma patients per day, both adults and pediatrics. This position works strong interdisciplinary team including Trauma Surgeons, Residents, Surgical Technicians, Trauma RNs, Social Workers, and Case Managers.
Responsibilities of the RN Nurse Manager Critical Care, Intensive Care ICU:
Play a Senior RN Nurse leadership role at a Level I Trauma Center
Work with other hospital leaders to advocate for the advancement of nursing as a profession.
Serve as an inspiring role model for nursing and administrative practice models
Oversee ICU and critical care nurse staff
Assess care given and implement changes as necessary
Bring education to ICU nursing staff
Train and evaluate the nursing team
Provide critical care patient treatment expertise
Communicate kindly and respectfully with patients and families
Collaborate well with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership
Requirements of the RN Nurse Manager Critical Care, Intensive Care ICU:
Team player, highly motivated and have a “boots on the ground” mentality
CCRN or TNCC is a plus
Proven nurse leadership experience
Experienced Nurse Educators or Clinical Nurse Leaders will be ranked highly
NY RN License
BSN from an accredited Nursing School, MSN preferred
