Responsibilities for the Wound Care RN Manager:
- Consults with surgeons and wound care providers to support nursing staff in implementing a wound management plan
- Ensure the safety of patients and facility staff through coordination and training of nursing staff
- Assists with producing all nursing documentation, including orders, progress notes, bedside charting, records, etc.
- Performs current burn care techniques for the care of all significant burn types
- Examines wound status and complications to develop individualized nursing care plans (NCP)
- Manage ostomy procedures with expertise
- Trains or retrains staff through regular educational sessions to carry out NCP
- Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with patients, families, and co-workers with compassion and understanding
- BSN from an Accredited School of Nursing required
- MSN strongly preferred
- Current New York RN license
- WOCN Certification Preferred
- Must have 5+ years of recent experience as an RN
- 1+ years of recent experience in a clinical/supervisory role
- 1+ years experience in wound care or related field
